Color Code: Chartreuse

Next up for my under $50 picks: Chartreuse. Oh, how I love this color! I think any neon color is great especially when you’re accessorizing a simple outfit. Of course, the predictable side of me would color block with a color this bright. Chartreuse is great with purple. This was inspired by a room I saw on TV years ago. I kept the accessories simple and neutral with the exception of the earrings. I think these colors work well together.

My First Inglot Freedom Palette 🙂

I know — it’s been a while! I’m sorry, but I’m back with a long overdue review of my Inglot palette! If you’re not familiar with Inglot, go check out their website: www.inglotcosmetics.com. I bought this palette while I was in Miami. Personally, I think it’s cheaper to buy these in person rather than online. I paid $50.00 for the whole palette + 6% FL tax.

Now onto the review: I really love love love these eye shadows. Since they are very pigmented, a little goes a long way. I don’t have anything bad to say about these eye shadows. You might probably ask how are they compared to MAC eye shadows. Well, I can honestly say that these Inglot eye shadows kick ass. Sorry for the foul language; I had to say it. MAC eye shadows has 1.5 grams while the Inglot square eye shadows has 2.7 grams. Talk about dirt cheap! You can buy them online for $5.00 each, while MAC eye shadows are $11.00 if bought in a pan, but $14.50 in pots. The only downside I see is if you decide to purchase this in person, you’ll have to fill in all the wells in the palette, but not to worry — these comes in 2, 3, 5 and 10 palettes. I heard that Inglot will release a 20-palette. I’m not sure if they already did, but it’s already up on their website so I’m guessing it is now available. One last tip when using these eye shadows: you HAVE TO HAVE a primer. You will experience fall out, so I strongly recommend using a very good primer.

Fashiometric: 10/10

Now, I’m going to leave the judging with you. 🙂

WTWW: Maxi Skirts

Maxi Skirts are huge right now. I always see them — at the mall, at the beach, etc. Even my 3-day getaway at New York City, I see people wearing them. The key is finding one that has a very soft and comfortable fabric. If you don’t like maxi dresses, here are 3 ways on how to wear maxi skirts.

Color Block! Of course, you know how I love color blocking. If you happen to have a neon or bright-colored maxi skirt, don’t be afraid to mix it with other colors. Here I paired a purple top with a coral maxi skirt. The belt is optional. The bag and the shoes gives the whole look a native vibe, which is always good especially when you’re dealing with solid colors.

WTWW Series -- Maxi Skirt

This look is perfect for the beach. I, personally, love the yellow bag. I’ve never seen something like it anywhere. I really think it will work perfectly with any outfit that needs a pop of color. In this look, I mixed two different prints together — floral and stripes. Again, don’t be afraid. Try different prints together, you’ll be surprised. Oh, and don’t forget your floppy hat!

WTWW Series -- Maxi Skirt

This last look is probably my favorite. The sheer maxi skirt may look weird at first, but give it a chance. Since the top and the cross body bag gives a feminine look, I toned it down by throwing a pair of sneakers. It gives the whole look a spontaneous vibe. This look is perfect when you’re going out with friends or just strolling the mall.

I hope you enjoyed this post! So what do you think? Would you wear maxi skirts? Do you own any? Let me know all about it in the comments below! 🙂

A paradise beach at Uiha, Tonga

Hello everyone! Since my vacation starts tomorrow, I’m here to share what you and I should bring when traveling. Let me share something about myself first — I am horrible at packing. I always don’t know what to bring. I’ve been in several trips to the beach, and I always end up packing more than I need. Does that ever happen to you? Well, I’m going to make it easy for the both of us. I’m here to share some tips whether you’re spending a day or a week at the beach.

  • The List

This is the most important. Create a list that will help you remember the things you HAVE to have when traveling. This includes everything from toothbrush to the littlest thing like a pair of earrings. It is possible to not include your wardrobe to the list. If you have an idea of which clothes you’re going to bring with you, write them down, but more on that later. It is okay if your list isn’t specific enough, just know which are the ones you always grab. If you have a million different facial washes, bring two — one for cleansing and one for breakouts; you never know! Just make sure you’re certain about your choices — you don’t want to bring something that you’ve purchased two days ago. You don’t even know if that certain product is going to work for you. The goal here is to relax and have a worry-free vacation!

Here is what my beach packing list looks like:

If you happen to find this interesting and useful for you, you can download the pdf file here.

  • Wardrobe

Another important thing about traveling is your outfit. Okay, maybe it is the most important — you get the point! 😀 When choosing your outfits, you should know which clothes in your closet best flatters your figure. Also, know how many clothes you need to bring. If you’re staying at the beach in 7 days, bring at least 10 change of clothes. You’ll never know what you may end up doing! However, if you have planned out everything — what you’re going to do from the first day up to the very last — plan out your outfits! This includes everything from head to toe, inside and out! Find the shoes that goes best with everything. This is why you should pack the day before, not the day of. You have to try on everything in your closet so you’ll have an idea what goes with what. If you’re planning to sticking out with the basics, bring bold accessories! The key here is to have a relaxing but fabulous summer! Besides, you better look good on those pictures, right? Right.

  • Beauty Essentials

Honestly, as much as I want to bring my entire make-up collection to this trip, I can’t. Besides, I don’t love every single product in my collection. I’ll tell you this though — I’m glad I got one of the last Clinique Bonus at Macy’s. What I love about those is that they are very travel-friendly. I have a travel size make-up remover, a palette with two eye shadows and a blush, a lipstick and lip gloss duo with SPF 15! All I have to bring is my foundation and my mascara and I’m ready to hit the road. I know what you’re thinking — why am I settling with just that, I thought of it too. I think I will add more eyeshadow rather than the boring brown that I have, but that’s about it. I’ll probably throw another blush that I’m willing to use everyday, and a couple of lip glosses. Okay, really, that’s about it! I strongly suggest that you pick all of your favorites and bring them with you since you’ll be using them everyday for the next 3 or 7 days! Also, bring a foundation or tinted moisturizer that’s darker than your current skin color unless you don’t have any plans on getting a tan. In my case, I have my two shades darker MAC Studio Fix Powder so I’m all set for that. If you don’t have a summer foundation, don’t worry, bring your bronzer! It will help, trust me.

  • Toiletries and Skin Care

Toiletries are important too, but try not to bring too much. If you’re going to be away for 1 week, make sure you have enough, but if you prefer buying them on where you’re going, do your research. Search for the nearest drugstores so you already know before leaving. For skin care, just bring what works for you. Enough said.

  • Electronics

These are optional; you don’t have to bring these if you’re planning on having a peaceful vacation. I think vacations are meant to be savored. Spend quality time with your family and/or friends. But if you’re going to drive like us, bring your electronics with you so you have something to do on the way to the beach, but once you’re in the hotel room, try to enjoy yourself! 🙂

  • Camera

Last, but certainly not the least — and oops, it’s not on the list. Camera! You want to capture those memories from your vacation. Bring an extra memory card with you for when the one you already have runs out. Don’t forget your charger, too!

More Tips:

  • When putting your clothes into your luggage or weekend bag, try to roll them to save space and to avoid wrinkling. To organize your clothes furthermore, try to roll each outfit you planned out so you know which goes with what.
  • Try to pack at least two more outfits than what you need; you’ll never know what may come up once you’re at the beach.
  • Travel size products are generally more expensive than full-size products. Avoid buying those. Instead, share with friends to save space and money. It’s like potluck, but in this case, you’ll bring toiletries.

So, what do you think? Will my list be useful for you? Do you have any plans for the summer? Are you planning on going to the beach? What are your travel essentials? Let me know all about it in the comments below! 🙂

Since my Summer Staple series ended, I’ve created a new series. Here at Fashiometics, we like saving money; we hope you do, too. This series will be featuring different products that are under $50. I will explain why I picked what I featured, so you’ll have an idea on where and how to wear these. Brace yourselves, this is going to be a fun series! 🙂 Please remember that you can click the small thumbnails below and it will redirect you to the product and its cost.

Color Code: Teal

From Top Left: Leather Bracelet, Nail Polish, Top, Sneakers, Earrings, Cross Body Bag

Teal is a blue-green color. It is a great color, because it is not really common and I don’t see this color at the mall all the time. Although it is not one of those pop-of-color kinds of color, it still stands out on its own especially if you pair it with lighter colors. My favorite out of six products featured above are the Marc by Marc Jacobs earrings! I think they look so cute, and for a pair of designer earrings for under $50, why not?

Here’s a set I’ve created and a way to wear teal:

I saw these at Zara, and I immediately fell in love with it! If you don’t know yet, my favorite color is pink! A few years back, my closet was full of pink clothes, then I grew up and realized that I need to have clothes in different colors, but obviously, my favoritism is kicking up again. I think this blazer is well-made, the fabric is lightweight — perfect for Spring & Summer! I just wish I could buy it soon if not tomorrow! But I doubt it, it’s $79.90. I cannot spend that much on a blazer, but then again… 🙂

You can see this blazer here.

Like the Movies: 500 Days of Summer

First of all, I would like to say that I don’t like this movie as much as I love the first two series I did with Like the Movies. I watched this movie for the first time three nights ago, and I immediately fell in love with Summer’s style. There aren’t a lot of people who wear this kind of trend these days, or maybe I haven’t found one. One thing I loved about this movie is the statement of the narrator in the beginning of the movie:

This is a story of boy meets girl, but you should know upfront, this is not a love story.

I don’t think there are many movies like this one out there, which is why I regret not watching it a long time ago. I’ve heard of this movie, but I didn’t really made the effort to find a DVD or stream it on Netflix, but now that I have watched it, I have to share which outfits of Summer I fell in love with.

This first set was inspired by the Ikea scene from the movie. Summer is wearing a very feminine baby blue dress paired with a straw bag. For my version, I picked a sleeveless baby blue dress with a mini sailor collar to complement the black knotted rope headband. I paired it with a very girly straw bag and a nude belt, then finished the look with a white flats.

Next, I chose Summer’s outfit from when they met again on the train after they broke up. I think this look minus the tights is great for summer! By now you probably notice that there’s a theme here — different hues of blue, floral, and girly. Summer likes to mix everything, but she only sticks with one color. Pair an embroidered top with a pair of high-waisted shorts, throw some opaque black tights, then finish the look with some nude oxford flats!

This third and final look is my favorite. Summer didn’t wear any accessories at all, but she still looked incredible! I think a dress like this should be on a must-have list especially if you’re starting to build your wardrobe! To get Summer’s look, pair a blue well-cut printed dress with a nice hair bun then finish the look with a pair of girly wedges!

So, what do you think? Have you seen this movie? Do have any favorite outfits of Summer? Let me know all about it in the comments below! 🙂

Hello, ladies. This is my last summer staple post for the season. I hope you like posts like these since I’ll be doing one throughout the year. Here’s the rundown of my summer staple series:

For this last post, I have a variety of accessories that I consider as summer staples. I’m going to work clockwise from the top left.

Feather Earrings — These are great for a lot of reasons: lightweight, comes with many colors, and stylish. I’ve written a post about what to wear with feather earrings if you’re looking for ways to wear this trend.

Knotted Rope Headband — Knotted headbands are very cute and could polish your look in a second Blair Waldorf-style!

Small Pendant Necklace — These are my go-to necklaces during the summer. They are comfortable enough to wear around your neck during the hot summer days, yet they play a huge role for a polished look.

Weave Fabric Bangles — These bangles are perfect for summer since they are not as heavy as the metal ones, but not as cheap-looking as the plastic ones. You can stack them, or wear them one at a time!

So there you have it — the end of my summer staple series. I hope you liked everything about these posts, and please leave me a comment below if you have any concerns and/or suggestions! 🙂

So, what do you think? What accessories are you planning on wearing throughout the summer? Let me know on the comments below! 🙂

Hello lovelies! I’m here again for another outfit inspiration, and this time we’re going to play with colors!! Now before you say anything, I just want to remind you that today’s set features a blazer. I’m sorry, I just couldn’t help it! This blazer is so beautiful, I just had to include it. You can still rock this look without the blazer, right? 😀

So, as many of you know, I’m always always always doing pop-of-color type of outfits. I figured, why not incorporate all of those colors into one outfit. It may seem outrageous at first, but you know you want to try it! I know I have! 😉 If you have not, I insist you give it a shot! I think wearing bright fun colors lights up your mood — even if you’re having a bad day. Besides, you only get to wear these during the summer, why not go above and beyond? I hope you’ll like the outfit below! I’ll be back tomorrow! xx

So, what do you think? Do you like mixing up colors and prints? What are you favorite color combinations? Tell me all about it in the comments below! 🙂

Feather earrings are my new-found love. I bought one just before spring started, and I completely fell in love with this trend. I usually see photos of celebrities wearing feather earrings with a boho chic vibe, but when I experimented with mine, I figured it will work with anything! I even wore mine on my 21st birthday! I think it’s perfect for summer since these earrings are lightweight and they come in a lot of different colors. In my opinion, there’s no wrong way to wear this trend, but if you’re still uncertain, here are some sets to inspire you.

First — you can totally rock the boho chic look! Pair feather earrings with a Ikat-printed dress, and add some accessories that emphasizes the bohemian vibe like the fringe body cross bag and embellished sandals. Finish this look with a headband or braids to perfect that boho look!

This second set is completely different from the first look. This shows you that feather earrings could be versatile. You could wear them with a pair of neutral clothes like a black tube top with a pair of white shorts. I was going for a pop of color look to make the earrings stand out, but I figured I should pair this ensemble with a hot pink sneakers to complement the earrings! It’s simple, yet stylish.

The final look is a bit of everything. You can see a sheer cropped top paired with a maxi skirt, a floral sandals for a little girly vibe, and the colorful wrist clutch. This look gives a little bohemian vibe, but not too much like the first set. I love the wrist clutch because it really stands out from the outfit!

So, what do you think? Do you like this trend? Do you own any feather earrings? What do you like about them? What don’t you like about them? Tell me all about it in the comments below! 🙂
