A paradise beach at Uiha, Tonga

Hello everyone! Since my vacation starts tomorrow, I’m here to share what you and I should bring when traveling. Let me share something about myself first — I am horrible at packing. I always don’t know what to bring. I’ve been in several trips to the beach, and I always end up packing more than I need. Does that ever happen to you? Well, I’m going to make it easy for the both of us. I’m here to share some tips whether you’re spending a day or a week at the beach.

  • The List

This is the most important. Create a list that will help you remember the things you HAVE to have when traveling. This includes everything from toothbrush to the littlest thing like a pair of earrings. It is possible to not include your wardrobe to the list. If you have an idea of which clothes you’re going to bring with you, write them down, but more on that later. It is okay if your list isn’t specific enough, just know which are the ones you always grab. If you have a million different facial washes, bring two — one for cleansing and one for breakouts; you never know! Just make sure you’re certain about your choices — you don’t want to bring something that you’ve purchased two days ago. You don’t even know if that certain product is going to work for you. The goal here is to relax and have a worry-free vacation!

Here is what my beach packing list looks like:

  • Wardrobe

Another important thing about traveling is your outfit. Okay, maybe it is the most important — you get the point! πŸ˜€ When choosing your outfits, you should know which clothes in your closet best flatters your figure. Also, know how many clothes you need to bring. If you’re staying at the beach in 7 days, bring at least 10 change of clothes. You’ll never know what you may end up doing! However, if you have planned out everything — what you’re going to do from the first day up to the very last — plan out your outfits! This includes everything from head to toe, inside and out! Find the shoes that goes best with everything. This is why you should pack the day before, not the day of. You have to try on everything in your closet so you’ll have an idea what goes with what. If you’re planning to sticking out with the basics, bring bold accessories! The key here is to have a relaxing but fabulous summer! Besides, you better look good on those pictures, right? Right.

  • Beauty Essentials

Honestly, as much as I want to bring my entire make-up collection to this trip, I can’t. Besides, I don’t love every single product in my collection. I’ll tell you this though — I’m glad I got one of the last Clinique Bonus at Macy’s. What I love about those is that they are very travel-friendly. I have a travel size make-up remover, a palette with two eye shadows and a blush, a lipstick and lip gloss duo with SPF 15! All I have to bring is my foundation and my mascara and I’m ready to hit the road. I know what you’re thinking — why am I settling with just that, I thought of it too. I think I will add more eyeshadow rather than the boring brown that I have, but that’s about it. I’ll probably throw another blush that I’m willing to use everyday, and a couple of lip glosses. Okay, really, that’s about it! I strongly suggest that you pick all of your favorites and bring them with you since you’ll be using them everyday for the next 3 or 7 days! Also, bring a foundation or tinted moisturizer that’s darker than your current skin color unless you don’t have any plans on getting a tan. In my case, I have my two shades darker MAC Studio Fix Powder so I’m all set for that. If you don’t have a summer foundation, don’t worry, bring your bronzer! It will help, trust me.

  • Toiletries and Skin Care

Toiletries are important too, but try not to bring too much. If you’re going to be away for 1 week, make sure you have enough, but if you prefer buying them on where you’re going, do your research. Search for the nearest drugstores so you already know before leaving. For skin care, just bring what works for you. Enough said.

  • Electronics

These are optional; you don’t have to bring these if you’re planning on having a peaceful vacation. I think vacations are meant to be savored. Spend quality time with your family and/or friends. But if you’re going to drive like us, bring your electronics with you so you have something to do on the way to the beach, but once you’re in the hotel room, try to enjoy yourself! πŸ™‚

  • Camera

Last, but certainly not the least — and oops, it’s not on the list. Camera! You want to capture those memories from your vacation. Bring an extra memory card with you for when the one you already have runs out. Don’t forget your charger, too!

More Tips:

  • When putting your clothes into your luggage or weekend bag, try to roll them to save space and to avoid wrinkling. To organize your clothes furthermore, try to roll each outfit you planned out so you know which goes with what.
  • Try to pack at least two more outfits than what you need; you’ll never know what may come up once you’re at the beach.
  • Travel size products are generally more expensive than full-size products. Avoid buying those. Instead, share with friends to save space and money. It’s like potluck, but in this case, you’ll bring toiletries.

So, what do you think? Will my list be useful for you? Do you have any plans for the summer? Are you planning on going to the beach? What are your travel essentials? Let me know all about it in the comments below! πŸ™‚

I saw these at Zara, and I immediately fell in love with it! If you don’t know yet, my favorite color is pink! A few years back, my closet was full of pink clothes, then I grew up and realized that I need to have clothes in different colors, but obviously, my favoritism is kicking up again. I think this blazer is well-made, the fabric is lightweight — perfect for Spring & Summer! I just wish I could buy it soon if not tomorrow! But I doubt it, it’s $79.90. I cannot spend that much on a blazer, but then again… πŸ™‚

You can see this blazer here.

So, what do you think? Do you like wearing blazers during the summer? What’s on your wish list? Let me know on the comments below! πŸ™‚

Hello lovelies! I’m here again for another outfit inspiration, and this time we’re going to play with colors!! Now before you say anything, I just want to remind you that today’s set features a blazer. I’m sorry, I just couldn’t help it! This blazer is so beautiful, I just had to include it. You can still rock this look without the blazer, right? πŸ˜€

So, as many of you know, I’m always always always doing pop-of-color type of outfits. I figured, why not incorporate all of those colors into one outfit. It may seem outrageous at first, but you know you want to try it! I know I have! πŸ˜‰ If you have not, I insist you give it a shot! I think wearing bright fun colors lights up your mood — even if you’re having a bad day. Besides, you only get to wear these during the summer, why not go above and beyond? I hope you’ll like the outfit below! I’ll be back tomorrow! xx

So, what do you think? Do you like mixing up colors and prints? What are you favorite color combinations? Tell me all about it in the comments below! πŸ™‚

Today’s featured set is rather boring, but important. There are people who read this blog who probably works in retail or do not work at all. If this does not apply to you, not to worry — I have more What to Wear series coming soon! If you have any requests or questions, feel free to send me an e-mail or simply comment on this post.

I’m not sure about you, but in my college, we have many on-campus interviews especially when the spring semester is almost done. Most college students are always looking for summer internships to broaden their network. I am not exempted from those people. Here’s an example on what you can wear for an interview or an office internship this summer:

I suggest keep it simple but sophisticated. I would probably skip the heels if you’re on your feet for several hours, but if you’re sitting down all the time, I’d say go with it! Choose neutral colors but skip the dark colors such as black. Also, wear minimal accessories, but wear the essentials — watch and earrings. It is up to you if you want to add more. I paired the whole ensemble with a bag that’s not too bright, but still stands out from the outfit.
So, what do you think? What’s your summer job? Do you think you would wear something like this at work? Let me know all about it in the comments below! πŸ™‚

This is a new series here at Fashiometics — it is more for me, but I think posts like these are great so you’ll get to know me more! πŸ™‚

I am obsessed with color blocking so when I saw this H&M dress — I immediately added it to my wish list! It is just color blocking at its best without having to purchase two different pieces! It is also available in white/blue color. You can see this dress here. Definitely a must-have!

Summer Fashion Must-Have's

Yesterday, I post my summer beauty must-have’s. This post will be about my fashion must-have’s. Of course, I must have one right? This wouldn’t be called Fashiometics without my take in fashion must-have’s. I hope you enjoy this post! πŸ™‚

1. Sunglasses — I cannot reiterate this anymore. I did many posts about sunglasses ever since I started this blog. This is my ultimate must-have for summer! I rarely wear sunglasses in the winter since it’s usually cloudy or snowing here in the Mid-Atlantic.

2. Colorful Accessories — I wasn’t really into accessories since last year and when I learned how to balance my accessories — I went on an accessory craze. All I wanted to buy for the whole month was accessories. At first, I was into silver accessories, but now I learned how to experiment with different colors so they also fall into my summer fashion must-have’s!

3. Beach Bags — I love going to the beach! It always make me feel serene, and of course, I wouldn’t go to the beach without my beach bag! Summer is the only time I could take out my beach bags since I don’t use them at school. Maybe I should start doing that, no?

4. Dresses — Two summers ago, I only had three dress. I never really liked wearing dresses until this winter. Ever since the dress frenzy kicked in, I’ve been buying dresses non-stop. Once, I went to Target and came home with 3 new dresses! Now I have more than 10! Yea, it’s not really an addition — it’s more of an addiction! πŸ˜€

This post will be quick! I just want to share to you what I found at Forever 21 two days ago. I’ve written a post about sunglasses; I stated that own a lot of sunglasses! Now, I own at least 10 sunglasses and 90% of them are from Forever 21.

I’m here to tell you that I found some bright colored sunglasses at a Forever 21 store for $1.50! Yes, one dollar and fifty cents!! I hope you’re as excited as me when I found these in the store. I actually bought all four colors they have: pink, orange, red, and white. I know they have it in blue, too, but I haven’t seen them yet. I only have the pink and orange with me right now, so here’s a picture:

Disclaimer: All products were purchased by me.

I’m back with another quick post for suggestions of what you could wear for certain events. Today’s post features cookout parties! I love cookouts especially during the summer when my friends and I do not have to go to school, and we could just hang out whenever we don’t have to work.

This set features a popular trend in the spring — mixing prints. Although it is subtle, it still suits the trend. If you’re going to attend a cookout party, dresses are a must! I chose this Ikat print since it is huge this summer! BCBG even posted a twitpic of the definition! I paired the dress with a floral wrist clutch to give it a feminine vibe. I chose the flower earrings to complement the wrist clutch. For the shoes, I chose a pair of flat shoes since you will be outdoors, and I think it goes with the tribal theme of the dress. And of course, to finish the look, I picked a messy ponytail for the hair since it is summer, and you wouldn’t want to be sweaty. That’s it for today, I hope you liked this post! πŸ™‚

So, what do you think? Would you wear this on a cookout? What are your summer plans with your friends? Let me know in the comments below! πŸ™‚

Hey everyone! I’m back with my nightly fashion posts. Today’s post will be about my go-to outfit! It’s really simple: a tee, a pair of shorts, bright sandals, and my handbag — I’m good to go! Sometimes, I will vary my accessories — different sunglasses, different necklaces, and different perfumes, but the only thing that I can’t go wrong — a pair of shorts and a simple tee! I hope you enjoy this post! πŸ™‚

This set is very simple. I picked a neutral colored top and a pair of white shorts. Then, I accessorize with some cute rubber bracelets and a bright pink sandals! This is ensemble is so versatile. It is great when you’re hanging out with your friends, or if you’re out on a lunch date with your significant other. This is one of my go-to summer outfits. It is simple, easy, and fun! Sometimes, you just have to go with the basics. Try it! It may surprise you! ❀
